Steven Scoggan Presents at DRI Business Litigation and IP Litigation Super Conference
On March 21st, Ellis & Winters attorney Steven Scoggan presented at the DRI Business Litigation and Intellectual Property Super Conference in Houston, TX. Steven spoke about electronic discovery in complex litigation and considerations in cross-border pretrial discovery.
Steven’s presentation touched on artificial intelligence and technology assisted review (TAR), data privacy issues implicated by the European Union’s General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR), the recent Schrems II decision, and foreign blocking statutes. Steven also highlighted a judicial decision obtained by Ellis & Winters that employed a novel approach under the Hague Evidence Convention to allow a French company to participate in pretrial discovery without violating the French blocking statute.
