Ellis & Winters to sponsor 7th Annual National Black Heritage Championship Swim Meet

Ellis & Winters is pleased to serve as a sponsor of the 7th Annual National Black Heritage Championship Swim Meet, to be held at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary, N.C., over Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-24. The event, hosted by the North Carolina Aquablazers Swim Team, will feature an expected 30 teams and more than 600 swimmers.

The event is the premier minority swim meet in the United States. Participating teams hail from 12 states and Washington, D.C. Organizers describe it as a “family reunion,” with grandparents, siblings and other relatives attending to lend their support along with swimmers’ parents. Maritza Correia, 2004 Olympic Silver Medalist, will host three swimming clinics during the weekend in addition to signing autographs.

The economic impact of the meet on the local economy is estimated at $500,000 in direct visitor spending.
