Paul Sun to Speak at CLE Hosted by Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of North Carolina

On November 6, 2015, Ellis & Winters partner Paul Sun will present during two programs at a CLE hosted by the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of North Carolina (FBA EDNC). Mr. Sun’s first presentation will provide an introduction to federal practice in the EDNC for attorneys and paralegals who are new to the district or seeking a refresher. Additional presenters include Clerk of Court Julie Richards Johnston, Assistant United States Attorney Dennis M. Duffy, and Assistant Federal Public Defender Joseph B. Gilbert.

During the second presentation, Mr. Sun will discuss the practical impact of recent amendments to the federal and local civil and criminal rules. Other presenters include Professor Richard E. Myers, II, Henry Brandis Distinguished Professor of Law at UNC School of Law and the Chair of the EDNC Local Rules Committee, and Alyssa O. Hockaday, Attorney Advisor to the Clerk of Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

Kelly Margolis Dagger, as a member FBA EDNC’s Executive Committee, will serve as an organizer for the event.

Paul Sun’s practice focuses primarily on business litigation, criminal defense, and appeals. Mr. Sun has experience in the areas of trade secrets and unfair competition, business and health care fraud (civil and criminal), employment, consumer claims, premises and product liability, and contract disputes.
