Ellis & Winters is pleased to announce that partner Jamie Weiss has been reappointed to serve on the Town of Cary Zoning Board of Adjustment. His three-year term will commence on October 1, 2017.

The Town of Cary’s Zoning Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals where it is alleged that there is an error in any order, requirement, permit, decision, determination, or refusal made by the planning inspector or other administrative officials in the carrying out or enforcement of any provisions of the zoning ordinance.  Additionally, the Zoning Board of Adjustment hears requests for variances from the provisions of the Town’s Land Development Ordinance.  Zoning Board of Adjustment hearings are typically quasi-judicial hearings as required by law.

About Jamie Weiss

Jamie Weiss is a partner in the litigation group at Ellis & Winters. His complex commercial litigation practice includes matters as diverse as defending real estate developers from accusations of fraud, prosecuting claims on behalf of companies and individuals involving trade secrets and employee mobility, and defending cases involving crane and rigging accidents.  Jamie also oversees the firm’s pro bono practice.
